Don’t Be Nuts, Check The Facts!

The Grafton Barber are supporting the Marie Keating Foundation and raising awareness of Men’s Health this November.

We are calling on men with a strong message of “Don’t be Nuts, Check the facts” urging them to educate themselves on the most common cancers in Ireland, particularly those affecting men such as prostate and testicular, but also other cancer prevalent in Irish men such as skin, lung and bowel Cancer.

Cancer is now the primary cause of death in men in Ireland, accounting for 30.8% of all male deaths. The risk of dying from cancer is 34% higher for men than for women.

Men are less likely than women to seek preventive care and undergo regular health screenings.

This is why it is so important that we raise awareness and urge men to be more proactive when it comes to their health. Check the facts and take action if you notice any signs or symptoms and talk to your GP about relevant screening options!

The cancers that most often affect men in Ireland are prostatebowellung, and skin cancers. testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 15-34. Knowing about these cancers, what to look out for and what you can do to help prevent them or find them early (when they are small and easier to treat) may help save your life.

Remember, if you have any concerns about your health, the most important thing to do is talk to your GP.
