Did you Know?

During the 17th century, Princes Street was divided by marsh – the Northern half being called Meeting House Lane, and the Southern half Playhouse Lane – a nod to a popular theatre that once stood at the Exchange Buildings.  With the creation of the English Market in the late 18th century, Princes Street became a hive of activity, laying the foundation for a foodie paradise that still stands today.
