Did You Know?

Leixlip is known for being the location of the first Guinness brewery. In 1756, Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000-year lease for the St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin, but before that, he operated a small brewery in Leixlip. The brewery in Leixlip was relatively short-lived, but it holds historical significance as part of the early brewing ventures of Arthur Guinness, the founder of the famous Guinness beer.
