Sky-High Charity Shave in Aid of Oscar’s Kids
Tomorrow, Friday 26th September 2025, something extraordinary will take place above the streets of Dublin. The Grafton Barber is partnering with the Dublin Fire Brigade for a charity haircut and shave like no other — performed while suspended high in the sky from DFB’s iconic 42-metre ladder at their Tara Street Headquarters.
This daring event is in aid of Oscar’s Kids, a remarkable charity that creates magical “Make-a-Wish” style experiences and honorary fire cadet days for terminally ill children. Founded in memory of Oscar, the young son of the charity’s founders, the initiative has touched countless lives. In Oscar’s honour, Dublin Fire Brigade has even named its honorary cadetship “The Dublin Fire Brigade Oscar District.”
Why This Event Matters
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, making this initiative especially meaningful. For the past two years, The Grafton Barber and Dublin Fire Brigade have proudly supported Oscar’s Kids, witnessing first-hand the joy and unforgettable memories the charity brings to children and their families.
As Hugh Mc Allister of The Grafton Barber explains:
“We are honoured and proud to support Oscar’s Kids. Providing unforgettable memories for these children and their families is at the heart of what this partnership is about.”
Elaine O’Flaherty of Dublin Fire Brigade adds:
“By coming together in such a unique way, we hope to raise awareness and much-needed funds to continue making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.”
