Volumed Thickening & Texturising Spray,

150Ml, Only 12.95 Euro

Volumed Thickening & Texturising Spray with a Matte Finish has to be one of the best & innovative products from The Grafton Barber Range. It's so good because for men out there with thin hair this gives the illusion of thicker, fuller hair without the shine of other products as it has a matte finish. This is one of the most used products by The Grafton Barbers because you its essentially perfect for all kinds of hair. All of our barbers even our female barbers swear by this product for any night out! It gives chic volume that lasts without the effort of back combing. Simply apply Volumed to damp or towel dried hair a few sprays at the roots or the ends where ever you desire to have more volume. Use your fingers to scrunch the product into your hair and mould into shape. Lastly blow-dry the hair to create extra volume & texture

Fibred, Orange Scent With a Flexible Hold,

100ML,Only 11.95 Euro

Fibred is a really fascinating product. It has stringy micro Fibres that almost look like cobwebs before they attach on to the hair. You should apply Fibred to towel dry hair for best results. Spread a small amount of Fibred into the palms of your hands. Now Clap your hands above your head and allow the Fibre Gum to fall into your hair. Now with the remainder of the product left on your hands slick your hair into shape. The best thing about Fibred is it has flexible hold and a nice shine & Fibred works for numerous hair styles as it does not have a stiffening hold.

Elvis was and still is today the King of Rock n' Roll. Presley was born in Mississippi but later him & his parents moved to Memphis Tennessee. Elvis had many musical influences including the pop & country music at the time, gospel music from church & the RnB Music he would hear as a teenager on Beale Street in Memphis.  Presley received his first guitar from his mother for his eleventh birthday and since then he was always interested in pursuing a career in Music. Elvis recorded his first demo for Sam Phillips at Sun Studios, Presley released his first single in 1954 ''That's All Right'' and quickly started performing, touring & recording more music. Presley's first number one single was ''Heartbreak Hotel'' & after this he also signed a contract with paramount pictures. Elvis' dance moves caused a lot of controversy during his performance as he had young woman everywhere swooning. ''Love Me Tender'' was released in 1956, soon after Presley was called to serve his time for the U.S. Military, however his thriving career was unstoppable at this point. On his return from the army Elvis got straight back to the recording studio. In 1967 he married Priscilla & had a daughter Lisa-Marie Presley, unfortunately they divorced shortly after in 1973. In 1977 The King of Rock n' Roll passed away at the young age of 42. Presley passed away because of heart failure & later this was linked to prescription drug use.

The King of Rock n' Roll was known for his classic music & also his timeless hair style. You may remember his pompadour hair style with its shiny, wet appearance. The pompadour is named after Madame de Pompadour - King Louis XV's Mistress although it was a females hairstyle it is now predominantly a mans hairstyle - we see many variations of the pompadour today. It is mainly short sides, hair swept upwards & backwards.

How To Achieve The Elvis Presley Pompadour:

  1. Shampoo your hair using The Grafton Barber D2 Re-build Peppermint Protein Thickening Shampoo – ideally leave the rebuild on your scalp for a couple of minutes while you shower. Our D2 Re-build Shampoo is useful for preventing hair loss & making the hair look thicker and fuller. Condition your hair using The Grafton Barber D3 Re-construct Coconut Protein Conditioner. For best results comb through then leave for a minimum of one minute & rinse thoroughly. The Benefits of using Our Re- construct conditioner is it combats oily scalp. Now your hair is product free.

  2. Now roughly towel dry your hair, Apply a few sprays of Volumed Thickening & Texture Spray & comb the product through the hair. Blow-dry your hair using a vent brush and lift from the roots to create extra volume.

  3. When blow-drying the front of your hair use the vent brush to blow- dry the hair from the roots to achieve maximum height in your quiff. Now apply a small amount of Polished & rake through with your fingers or a vent brush - so your pompadour look less structured & more effortless.

  4. To finish and lock in the style use The Grafton Barber Maxed Hairspray with invisible effect to get maximum hold.

Brave To Shave

''Brave to Shave'' is an event in aid of St. John's Oncology Ward in Crumblins Children's Hospital. The event was held in Fitzgeralds Bar in Aston Quay & women gathered around to shave off their long hair for this wonderful cause. The Grafton Barbers own Lizzie Mcghee was at hand with her razor to help out at the event.
One of the volunteers said ''So what is it like to strip a woman from her hair, to take away a piece of her femininity? Some women choose to do it & that is wonderful & liberating. But some people don't get to make that choice. A 5 year old child battling cancer didn't decide for their hair to fall out, it is just one of the cruel challenges they must overcome in their fight.''

Congratulations to the brave women that took part - what an amazing cause!
